Why do so many of us love ghost stories, the scarier the better? Whether it is the famous literary ghost like Washington Irving's headless horseman of Sleepy Hollow or the ubiquitous spirits in small towns throughout New England, we cannot seem to get enough of ghosts, spirits or otherworldly creatures.

The exhibition “BOO! The Story of the Pettibone Ghost” may not answer the question - “Is there a ghost haunting Pettibone Tavern?” – but it will provide visitors with a look at the Pettibone family and the ghost that bears that name.
